On 20 May 2021, DPA hosted a webinar on the prolonged and unprecedented 2021 Samoan elections. The webinar took place in the midst of a tense period, shortly before Parliament was expected to resume - which subsequently did not take place due to a shock announcement by the Head of State on 22 May suspending parliament.

The webinar brought scholars from Apia, Auckland and Canberra together to give context and background on the Samoa elections, and discuss the factors that led to the still ongoing constitutional crisis.
