This event brings together a range of experts and practitioners to discuss innovative ways Australia can support Afghan women's rights in the current context. Speakers come from large and small NGOs, from academia and the diaspora. They are Australians and Afghans, men and women. The discussions focus on five key themes affecting Afghan women's rights:

  • Gender apartheid and general breaches of rights
  • Education
  • Humanitarian migration
  • Income generation and humanitarian assistance
  • Women's health

After a series of engaging panel discussions, attendees will break up into small groups to develop recommendations for the Australian Government that will be compiled into a report for publication after the event.
