Prime is the founder of BHOLI Youth Centre in Northern Mindanao in the Philippines, a youth-led organisation that offers after school programs to students Pre-K-12. In 2021, the United States Mission to ASEAN awarded his youth-based project of crafting an online short course on youth peacebuilding sustainability. From 2016 to 2019, he served as an Assistant Professor in Political Science at Mindanao State University-Iligan, where he also earned a doctorate in Sustainable Development Studies. For his PhD at The Australian National University, he explores the intergenerational intersect of community resilience and collective memory in the post-accord phase of the Bangsamoro region of the Philippines. Professor Bina D’Costa supervises him.

Prime is a national finalist for the 2017 Young Filipino Heroes award of ABS-CBN Gawad Geny Lopez Jr Foundation and was the 2016 Philippine Ambassador of goodwill to Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange Students and Youths. Before joining the academe, he worked in a non-profit. He was the Philippine representative at international summits on Millennium Development Goals, Youth Volunteering and Peace Education in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Prime’s research is focused on Mindanao and the confluence of intergenerationality, memory, and community resilience. He published in Conflict Studies Quarterly, Peace Review, Peacebuilding Journal, and the Journal of Peacebuilding and Development. His first book, “Duladula ug Pakigsandurot” (Games and Interaction), has been piloted in some public schools in Northern Mindanao. In January 2022, he completed his co-edited book on youth, peacebuilding, and sustainability, published through the Young Southeast Asia Leaders Program of the UN Mission to ASEAN.
