Bina D’Costa, ‘Journeys through Shadows: Gender Justice in the Chittagong Hill Tracts’, in Hameeda Hossain and Amena Mohsin, eds, Of the Nation Born: The Bangladesh Papers, New Delhi: Zubaan, 2016, pp. 234-82.
Employing a feminist perspective, this chapter articulates deeply embedded tensions within existing justice frameworks and indigenous rights. By analysing the role of civil society networks in gender justice strategies in the Chittagong Hill Tracts in Bangladesh, this chapter recommends a different and possibly more productive way of thinking about gendered experiences of justice in South Asia.
