A Region in Transition

The Pacific region faces a number of key transitions across range of areas including politics and democracy, development and economics, women€™s leadership, gender roles and relations, and the impact of technology on society.

In this video, convenors of the 2014 State of the Pacific conference Dr Sinclair Dinnen and Dr John Cox outline some of these key transitions and what they mean for the region and Australia.

Hosted by the State, Society and Governance in Melanesia Program at the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific, the second annual State of the Pacific conference brings together academics, policymakers, business leaders, civil society representatives and the media to examine the most pressing contemporary challenges facing the region.
