Matthew Needham
BA/LLB, GDLP, LLM (ANU)

Matthew began his PhD candidature in 2020. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws from the Australian National University and is a partner within the Canberra office of a national law firm. Matthew's PhD thesis examines combat effectiveness within an Australian infantry battalion during the First World War. He has conducted field work in France, Belgium and Turkey, and has published articles on military history including in Wartime magazine.
