Kim Refshauge
Mr Kim Refshauge has been a PhD student in International, Political, and Strategic Studies at the ANU Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs since August 2025. His research examines why negotiated peace agreements succeed or fail, specifically addressing the concept of “spoilers” from an ethical perspective. Among the primary case studies for this research project is the 2016 Colombian peace deal.
He worked in policy roles at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) from 2017 to 2025. He was posted to the Australian Embassy in Türkiye from 2020 to 2023, focusing on political affairs. In 2024, he took a year of leave from DFAT to work as a Senior Committee Adviser in the New Zealand Parliament.
