Ms Murni Abdul Hamid
Murni obtained her undergraduate degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), United Kingdom, and her master’s degree from the International University of Japan in Niigata, Japan. She served as a foreign service officer at the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for over two decades, including roles in the Southeast Asia Division, Human Rights Division, and Europe Division. She also undertook bilateral and multilateral postings in The Hague, New York, and Washington, D.C. Her most recent posting was as Director of International Affairs at the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office in 2023 and 2024. Murni is currently pursuing her PhD at the Australian National University (ANU), focusing on Malaysia’s foreign policy positioning within the context of US-China rivalry.
