Assessing the impact of Community Officers on grievance management practices in Solomon Islands

In the Solomon Islands, four provinces have appointed Community Officers to support local leaders dealing with conflicts and disputes within communities and to better link them with the province, police and national government ministries. In collaboration with the Solomon Islands Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening, we surveyed almost 1000 citizens in 20 wards across four provinces to ascertain whether there were improvements in access to justice and grievance management as a result of the project.
