Murray Lloyd

Murray Lloyd is a MPhil candidate with a research interest in Vanuatu. This interest came from volunteering in Vanuatu from 2015-2017 with New Zealand’s Volunteer Service Abroad. He went back to Vanuatu in 2019 to record a film about the livelihoods of female market vendors in order to give them a voice. Voices from Vanuatu is a twenty-five-minute documentary that follows market vendors from the farm through to the restaurant. Murray’s undergraduate degree at Massey University in Wellington also ended with a documentary titled A Brilliant Life, a personal multimedia documentary about maintaining dignity and independence in the face of terminal illness. It combines still images and an audio soundtrack. It was generated from a substantial research project conducted during his honours year at Massey University and published via YouTube in 2013.

Note: other than Amanda H A Watson, Murray is also supervised by James Flexner from University of Sydney.
