Shaun began his doctoral candidacy in 2014. He has previously worked on various research, advocacy, policy implementation and community development projects in Papua New Guinea (PNG) since 2006. After graduating from the University of Sydney, Shaun worked in disability policy for the Eastern Highlands Department for Community Development. As Disability Officer, Shaun assisted provincial stakeholders to implement the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). More recently, he has worked with the PNG Church Partnership Program, building the capacity of local civil society organisations. Shaun is also involved in the Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) program, training young Australian volunteers bound for PNG.
