
Ms Shivangi Seth
Shivangi is a PhD candidate in the Department of International Relations in the Coral Bell School of Asia and Pacific Affairs at The Australian National University. Her research explores justice and accountability in the aftermath of mass atrocities. In her thesis, Shivangi examines how the politics of funding impacts the realization of the International Criminal Court’s objectives of impartiality and universality, gender justice, and victim-centric justice.
Prior to commencing her PhD, Shivangi worked as a Research Officer at the UKRI GCRF Gender, Justice and Security Hub, conducting research on gender justice, funding of transitional justice, and legacies of colonialism in transitional justice. She is also a Research Assistant at the Griffith Asia Institute, Griffith University, where she studies the human rights and justice landscape in South Asia. She has also held policy-oriented research roles at think tanks in Australia and India.
Shivangi holds a Master's degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the Australian National University and a BA (Honours) in History and International Relations from Ashoka University.
